About the position Our Off-Highway business segment is a leading specialist in the design and manufacture of controls, pedals, and steering columns for the agricultural, construction, powersports and outdoor equipment markets. This segment is seeking a Product Engineer in its Willis Engineering Group. Reporting to the R&D Manager, the Product Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of engineering solutions for vehicle control systems within KA, using automotive industry standard tools and processes. This Engineer will be working within, and often leading, a professional Project Team to deliver programs from Concept to Production. The ideal candidate will be selected to execute Engineering tasks within projects to meet schedule, budget, and specifications. Responsibilities Main Duties:
Analyze and interpret the customer requirements to determine feasibility of product proposal. Develop robust engineering solutions to defined enquiries, using a 'right first time' approach. Working directly with OEM and KA personnel, lead the generation and completion of Product Specifications (PS) & Product requirement Documents (PRD) for new products & new applications, including the definition of product test plans and follow up of test results. Use of typical engineering development tools, including DFMEA, DFM/A, VA/VE techniques, DVP&R, SC&CC identification, etc to ensure robust product design. Generation of 3D models & 2D drawings, using Pro/Engineer. Perform engineering calculations and simulations to achieve robust product designs. Working within a Cross Functional Team, co-ordinate the completion of all engineering deliverables identified by the Project Manager / Team required in order to complete the project to Cost, Quality & Delivery expectations. Working directly with Product Managers, generate concept proposals to customer enquiries. Execute all other reasonable duties as requested by the R&D Manager. Lead and Mentor junior engineers. Areas of Responsibility:
Completion of development engineering tasks as identified in Kongsberg Product Development processes (KBD-NPI & PIP). Lead the development of new products that support Kongsberg Automotive's Strategic Plan. Insure completion of design documents and properly file into appropriate project folders. Co-ordinate and manage the manufacture of sample parts with the production plant, including procurement of Tier II manufactured components. Requirements Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 8 years' experience in Product Engineering Good working knowledge of computer systems; MS Office; MS Project, MRP Skilled practitioner in Pro/Engineer or equivalent 3D modeling software and PLM Ability to produce quality engineering drawings Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Plastic Injection Molded, die cast, and sheet metal part design experience Desirable:

$80K -- $100K
